TĀNGATA NGĀI TAHU: WĀNAKA & HĀWEA

Join Helen Brown and Michael J. Stevens from the Ngāi Tahu Archive as they explore two hundred years of tribal history in the Wānaka and Hāwea region.

They will share the life-stories of Waitaha, Ngāti Mamoe and Ngāi Tahu tipuna (ancestors) with whakapapa connections to the area. People who feature in the award-winning book series Tāngata Ngāi Tahu: People of Ngāi Tahu. 

Hear about rangatira (chiefs), mahinga kai practitioners, Ngāi Tahu Claim advocates, land trustees, tribal stalwarts, and tipuna whose descendants have mana whenua (tribal authority) in the region today.
